Driving Change Across Sports Media
The sports media landscape is undergoing significant transformations driven by disruptions in broadcast models, evolving consumer preferences, and advancements in technology.

The industry continues to see traditional broadcast and cable networks facing stiff competition from tech giants like YouTube, Apple, Amazon, and Netflix. It is challenging for traditional networks to compete with deep-pocketed Silicon Valley rivals, so they must explore innovative content strategies, leverage existing strengths and form new strategic partnerships.

And the collapse of the RSN model and the increase in DTC platforms have leagues and teams continually navigating their media strategies to maximize revenue and adapt to new consumption patterns. As teams and leagues begin to offer their own DTC platforms and become content creators, they have opportunities to personalize content and integrate AI to increase fan engagement.

This year’s Media Innovators conference will explore these topics and more, providing valuable insights into the future of sports media while helping stakeholders navigate the complexities of this rapidly changing industry.

National Sports Forum
February 22-24, 2026
St. Louis, MO

The SBJ National Sports Forum was conceived in 1996 with the innovative idea of applying the 'league meeting model' to a broad gathering of industry professionals. The goal was to dismantle the silos between the NFL, NBA, and NHL, fostering the exchange of ideas and the cultivation of lifelong relationships.

Since its inception, the Forum has evolved into one of the largest annual gatherings of sports business professionals, encompassing a diverse array of teams, leagues, agencies, and brands. SBJ NSF is led by a Steering Committee of more than 20 industry professionals who guide the programming to ensure it is relevant and compelling.

In 2026, the Forum will celebrate its 30th anniversary and its first year as part of Sports Business Journal. More than 1,000 sports professionals responsible for ticket sales and service; sponsorship sales and activation; marketing; fan engagement; business development; and diversity and inclusion will gather in St. Louis for a three-day immersive, hands-on experience that will include more than 30 breakout sessions, 10 workshops and four main stage sessions.
World Congress of Sports
April 14-16, 2026
Los Angeles, CA

As the host of world-class events beginning with the FIFA World Cup and the NBA All-Star Game in 2026, Super Bowl LXI in 2027, and the Summer Olympics in 2028, and the nonstop pulse of sports activity throughout the year, it’s fitting that Los Angeles will be the site of the 2026 CAA World Congress of Sports. It will be held April 14-16 at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE.

“Los Angeles is the perfect setting for the premier gathering of sports industry leaders,” comments Sports Business Journal Publisher & Executive Editor Abe Madkour. “In addition to being a global stage in the coming years, the city is a dynamic hub for sports, and home to iconic franchises across so many sports leagues. And along with our partner, CAA, we are excited to bring this marquee event to L.A.”

World Congress is the largest and most prestigious sports business conference in North America. Attendees include commissioners and other league officers; team owners and presidents; corporate sponsors and advertisers; media executives; agency heads and the financial community. The program addresses the business of sports from the perspective of the industry’s top executives. However, it also features speakers and topics that transcend sports.

In addition to the content on stage, World Congress is known as a networking mecca where high-profile discussions take place, and deals get done among the industry’s top stakeholders.
